“Self mastery is the challenge of transforming yourself from your own worst enemy into your greatest ally” – Wes Fesler
How are you? I hope you’ve had a great month!
The theme of this blog is about ‘self sabotaging’. We are all probably guilty of self sabotaging from time to time, myself included. Although, I used to self sabotage a lot more than I do now! I used to really beat myself up about ‘stuff’ and be very critical about things – I still can be… although the difference is that now I know when I’m doing it.
Be your greatest ally!
At this time of year most people are setting themselves new challenges and resolutions. We all set out with good intentions on our new journey although, quite often, we get in our own way of reaching our end goal – we self sabotage ourselves.
What is self sabotage?
Self sabotaging is when we become our own worst enemies with thoughts such as ‘why does it have to happen to me’ and ‘it’s ok I’ll manage, I don’t need any help’ and ‘I should be able to do this and I can’t’. Sound like you or someone you know?
Ultimately these thoughts take us over and stop us from doing the things we really want to do! It’s so common, however it is a harming habit and one which each and every one of us should endeavour to overcome! Amazing things will come your way when the penny drops and you realise that the only thing standing in your way is… well… YOU!
Thankfully, you have the power to take control of those thoughts and flip them on their head. It’s time to let go of those self sabotaging ways and get out of your own way!
There are 5 top Self Saboteurs:
-
Victim – ‘why does it happen to me!’
-
Prostitute – where you give too much of yourself away
-
Rescuer – trying to help everyone
-
Martyr – ‘it’s ok I’ll manage’
-
Punisher – ‘I should be able to do this, I should be better than this’

Have a great week!
